Derek Edquist

Derek Edquist is a seasoned firearms and tactical instructor with a decade of service in the United States Marine Corps, followed by extensive experience as a DOD contractor at the MARSOC schoolhouse. There, he trained Special Operators in shooting, close quarters combat (CQB), and breaching techniques.
For the past five years, Derek has served as the lead firearms and CQB instructor for a federal crisis response tactical team, playing a critical role in preparing agents for high-risk missions. He is deeply passionate about coaching and mentoring, always committed to giving his students everything he has to help ensure they return home safely regardless of the environment or challenges they face.
Driven by a strong commitment to excellence and a genuine desire to teach, Derek brings a powerful combination of operational experience, instructional expertise, and mission-driven passion to Aimpoint. Outside of work, he is an avid hunter, competitive shooter, and actively trains in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as a way to continue growing both physically and mentally.
