Course DescriptionThis course shares practical insights and broader concepts on how to successfully engage officers from diverse backgrounds, departments, and experience levels. The focus is on strategies to make individual training time on the range more impactful for every student, regardless of skill level - highlighting how to design more efficient and effective training plans that maximize available resources such as ammunition, time, and budget, without compromising training quality. Whether you are a student looking to improve faster or an instructor aiming to elevate your training approach, this course offers actionable takeaways for everyone.
Over the course of the day, students will be introduced to modern concepts including practical shooting, hit factor scoring, and baseline evaluations and metrics. Hit factor scoring is the measure of performance based on how well a shooter can manage and balance speed and accuracy in context. Students will begin with a concise and comprehensive carbine program designed to maximize efficiency and shooting performance through VerTac's Diagnose, Calibrate, and Assessment program.
Students will then be introduced to broader teaching concepts designed to increase efficiency of instruction when introducing officers to new weapon systems. Utilizing the state-of-the-art Genesis Arms Gen 12, the class will be introduced to a new weapon system with a focus on the HOW and WHY - demonstrating how to most effectively build performance, proficiency, and accountability when introducing officers to new or existing tools.
